Eles explicaram a situa\u00e7\u00e3o dos crist\u00e3os de origem mu\u00e7ulmana do&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/portasabertas.org.br\/lista-mundial-da-perseguicao\/iemen\">I\u00eamen<\/a>&nbsp;e do&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/portasabertas.org.br\/lista-mundial-da-perseguicao\/sudao\">Sud\u00e3o<\/a>&nbsp;e contexto geral da regi\u00e3o do&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/portasabertas.org.br\/artigos\/o-que-e-oriente-medio\">Oriente M\u00e9dio<\/a>&nbsp;e&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/portasabertas.org.br\/artigos\/o-que-e-norte-da-africa\">Norte da \u00c1frica<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A reuni\u00e3o contou com a presen\u00e7a de deputados representantes do Parlamento Europeu, da Comiss\u00e3o e do Servi\u00e7o Europeu para a A\u00e7\u00e3o Externa. Ap\u00f3s observar dados e ouvir testemunhos de seguidores de Cristo daquelas regi\u00f5es, um deputado da Eslov\u00e1quia foi tocado pela causa da Igreja Perseguida e testemunhou: \u201cPensei que vim aqui hoje para cumprir o meu mandato pol\u00edtico, mas n\u00e3o esperava que isso aprofundaria a minha f\u00e9\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Uni\u00e3o Europeia tem como objetivo contribuir para a paz e seguran\u00e7a, a solidariedade e o respeito entre os povos. Al\u00e9m disso, visa favorecer o com\u00e9rcio livre e equitativo, a erradica\u00e7\u00e3o da pobreza e a prote\u00e7\u00e3o dos direitos humanos.
